Who teaches boys to shave?

I'm a single mum, with a teen boy and at some point fairly soon, he will need to learn to shave.

Do dads normally teach their sons to shave? Or do they go off to a barber for a lesson in the dark art? Or do I just give him a packet of Bics and let him work it out for himself (not a comforting thought)?

I doubt shaving my legs gives me the appropriate skills. Men make all those weird faces while shaving so there must be more to it. Having got DS this far, I don't want to let him down.

He'd probably learn from youtube nowadays.

That's brilliant (both the tip and fact he's made those videos).

That's what I was going to say.

Op please don't give your boy a packet o bics, poor kid won't have a face left. Wash with hot water, foam, hot water n decent razor, job done. 😁

I bough DS1 an electric shaver when he started getting ‘bum fluff’ which seemed fine. This was when he was 13 - he went through puberty early.

then I found out he was using my underarm shower razor a couple of months ago, in our shower. At which point I bought him some more.
