I should be loading the dishwasher ( oh the joys!) but DD13 is cooking her tea. DH is working til 8 then we’ll have battered fish, oven chips & peas. Chilling with a glass of wine. I need to fill the bunnies’ water bottles. It’s a lovely evening here. Soooo glad the high temperatures have gone for now. I really didn’t function well at all. Worked today & feeling sad because yet another of my colleagues is leaving tomorrow. We’ve lost loads of staff over the last few months. Many colleagues I count as friends too. Might catch up with Celebrity Masterchef in a bit. Really liking Danny Jones.

DSs (14+11) are literally making a meal of a Gousto recipe 🤣 They are both reasonably competent cooks but haven't closely followed written recipes before. Never heard such a kitchen palava! I'm keeping out of the way and hoping my dinner will be served before midnight

Laid the table for afternoon tea tomorrow for my three closest friends. I've washed, polished, vacuumed and the table was the last job.

I'm using an inherited teaset from the 30s so the table looks really lovely.

My kids have flown the nest. Looking for a wallpaper with a slightly traditional feel that won’t cost an arm and a leg. The dog’s tummy is making weird sounds. DH playing poker online. All’s well in the world for us as far as I can tell. ( Not heard from middle and youngest daughter for a few days, both in Majorca. )

Very long week at work so am on sofa. Dh is watching the athletics but in such a fucking cunty way that we are getting a running commentary about stuff I give no shits about. I like a bit of sport occasionally but he's had it n non stop for weeks.

Dds are playing chess. Bless them they are a pair of dimwits less skilled than Robin from ghosts.

I may very well go upstairs and start rereading the last cormoran strike novel before the new one comes out. Or continue my greys anatomy rewatch (Addison is due next episode)

I am listening to DS wittering about Minecraft. I will wrestle/threaten/bribe him into bed in a few minutes as I have 1 more work email to do before the out of office goes on until 1st September. I should probably pack some clothes as well as we need to leave at 10am.

I'm on my own tonight, no kids or husband, so I've been to the stables to feed my horse, Major Tom - who was ever so pleased to see me. And I've taken the dogs for a walk. Can't be arsed to cook so made myself a ham and tomato sarni. I'll have a shower and then indulge in some " me time ". 😊

Early start tomorrow, off to see my relatives on the Dorset coast. Can't remember the last time I had the entire weekend to myself. It's very quiet.

I’m eating pizza and olives with DH and we have a nicely chilled bottle of wine, also listening to the Proms. Kids are already fed.

I'm giving DH a back scratch, and DD8 has snuck off down to see granny and grandad because she knows it's bed time.

Toddler DS been sleeping since 7:30. DH and I tidied together, now we're watching our reality TV guilty pleasure and eating snacks! Gorgeous autumn weather today, been loving it.

DH is away with work. I have just got DC into bed and am wondering whether to bother getting a takeaway or just forget it - it's my guilty pleasure to get one when he's not here but I'm so tired I think it would be wasted on me.

Going to put a wash on and then have a glass of wine and catch up on a bit of celeb masterchef. Should really tidy the house a bit but planning to get DC to help with that tomorrow by blackmailing them obvs

Picked youngest up from nursery and he wanted pizza (lovely pop up pizza place close to nursery. Turned out lots of parents had the same idea so kids were all playing, adult chatting and having some wine. Came home and little on is in bed, oldest is on playstation (10 more minutes), dh is out for a run. I am about to have an early night

Watching Young Sheldon with teen dd and dh whilst teen ds plays Football Manager. The cat has decided to join us.

The puppy is eating my pot plants outside and I am mumsnettibg whilst my husband cooks KFC fake away and q soup is simmering away in the slow cooker 😀

DH is making dinner - pulled pork carnitas.
Youngest DD is colouring in whilst FaceTiming her mate.
DD1 is getting ready for a night out.
DS is having a nap.
I am drinking Prosecco, on MN and online shopping for DD1’s upcoming birthday.
