Anyone else got a Simba mattress and HATE it?

We got a Simba back in June and it's giving me the worst backache and back spasms almost every night. I HATE IT.

I stupidly convinced myself 9and DH and his wallet) that is was the mattress for us but it's vile.

Going to try the 100 night guarantee once I've swallowed my pride and told DH I hate it. Is it just me?

Not sure what to get next - we had an Eve topper on our old bed and I loved it.

We had ours 5 years and it started to dip badly in places, however they come with a 10 year guarantee and after a really quick and easy process they’ve just replaced it with an upgraded version for free and took away the old one. We’re pretty chuffed it’s that.

What does Simba look like on edges? The holiday let mattress is great - it has a little honeycomb stitching on the edges but I can't see a label. Any ideas what it is? I was thinking a Simba or Emma

I'd go to an independent bed shop, talk to the person who runs it, and try out all their suggestions. Personally it seems madness to buy a mattress without trying it out first. We spent hours in the shop when we bought our latest. We've got a Sealy 2800 geltex. It cost a lot, but it's worth every penny.

@JorisBonson try a Healthbeds Backcare mattress. Wonderful.

We hated ours and decided it was worth the expense to get a Tempur which has been perfect

Has it got memory foam? Anything with that stuff is a con. I hate it so much.

We bought a simba through John Lewis about 5 years ago. We’d narrowed it to two options; the simba and a John Lewis one that was about £500 more. We figured we would try the simba one as we could use their 100 night guarantee and upgrade to the JL one if we wanted. I lasted 30 days. It was 30 days of hell! This was pre kids and I was a boney size 8 and when we went into JL to sort the return and upgrade to their mattress, the salesman was not surprised. He got me to lie on the simba and showed my how little support many parts of my frame were getting due to my hips and shoulders being the only part of my torso in contact with the mattress and that it was almost certainly too firm for me.

The return was very easy and they didn’t question it and even better, the mattress I really wanted had gone down by £250 in the sale and it is absolutely comfortable! I love it.

We not long ago got the "Sleepsoul Space 2000 Pocket Sprung Mattress" looks like they've upgraded it so it's now super cheap various places - highly recommended

I’m currently sweating my ass off laying in the sinkhole in the middle of my Emma mattress. Never again.

We've bit the bullet and spent approximately a million pounds on a Therapur mattress that I could have slept on in the showroom. Waiting for Simba collection. 4 more sleeps on that dreadful mattress.

Nope, I hated mine too! Comfortable for a few months until it started sagging very badly to the point that every night I got into a noticeable “hole”. Woke up in excruciating pain feeling like I’d slept face down in a hammock! Went to Bensons for Beds who confirmed they no longer stock Simba due to all the complaints they’ve received. Simba mattress went back under the 200 night sleep guarantee and I bought an igel 3000i advance from Bensons for beds, which is the most comfortable bed ever. The gel top is cooling and comfortable to support my painful joints (fibromyalgia sufferer), the support of 3000 full size individual pocket springs offers full support - important as I also have orthopaedic issues with my back. Expensive, but well worth the extra money to get an incredibly comfortable
nights sleep, and the build quality is fantastic - seems like it will last for many, many years with no foreseeable problems.

Worse than I thought it will be, after 10 days we discovered someone’s hair under the mattress cover. Does not belong to us, as we are both having different hair color. It’s just disgusting 🤮 as we didn’t buy a refub and paid full price. Can’t say how much I hate it. Hope they will refund us, as tomorrow I am going to arrange a return.

Do you mind telling me what bamboo mattress you got my simba is killing my back

Son0707 · 07/02/2024 16:13

Yes I have had mine fir more than 6 years . After 6 months I notice a issue with my back. They bough the most thinnest light weight man to lye on the mattress and said it was okay BS. I have had two toppers and birds under the bed no different. Please do not buy this mattress they said 10 years guarantee but what does that mean. They are con artiste and just unhelpful

I know this is an old thread, but I desperately need to vent about our experience with the Simba mattress—an utter disappointment and a complete waste of money. For something so pricey, you'd expect much better.

Firstly, when our mattress arrived, it had a strong chemical odor that lingered for months. Secondly, we have the double size, and finding a fitted sheet that actually fits has been a nightmare. Despite trying various deep-fit options, every time I wrestle with it, it feels like I'm in a fight with the mattress itself.

Thirdly, it's just not comfortable. Both my husband and I often wake up with back pain, and we’re only in our early 40s! Lastly, these mattresses are incredibly heavy, so when it’s time to rotate them (a requirement to keep the warranty valid), it’s a physically draining task.

I’d strongly advise anyone considering Simba mattresses to think twice. Save yourself the hassle and look elsewhere.

We’ve bought one had it 2 years and had to put a topper on it.
