These were the scenes outside hot and sunny Belfast City Hall earlier today as quite a few Mumsnetters joined thousands of other people in stopping the traffic for Noah Donohoe.

I'll post a few more photos too.

Also. I don't understand why I'm being accused of it being a first post when it wasn't. And how I'm being accused of it being strange that I said there was coverage AND I linked to the coverage.

BelfastsChild · 14/08/2022 10:54

Thank you @LadyEloise1

When I posted it was in petitions.
Petitions and Activism is in Classified, @tinplantpot
Can we move on from this now everyone please, so that it doesn't derail this positive thread for Noah? Many thanks. Flowers

Amazing support for a campaign that should not be needed - no mother should have to fight like that after losing their child.

FourTeaFallOut · 14/08/2022 11:01

It's just odd, you being a brand new poster, with no posting history beyond yesterday, suggesting that petitions is a perfectly fine board for this topic. My mistake.

FourTeaFallOut · 14/08/2022 11:03

I think chat is much better, plenty of traffic. Thankfully. Not shut away on an empty board. Good decision

I name changed. It's allowed. I do so every couple of weeks or so.

I note you haven't apologised.

FourTeaFallOut · 14/08/2022 11:05

Yes.

tinplantpot · 14/08/2022 11:06

I linked to the coverage. What is your problem with that?

SpinCityBlues · 14/08/2022 11:07

Shall we move on please, as OP suggested?

tinplantpot · 14/08/2022 10:16

See my posts on this thread at 7.55 and 7.56 this morning.

I said there was coverage and linked the bloody coverage on the bbc.

Classifieds is for adverts. It was in petitions before it was moved. I was being factual. That is all.

What. The. Fuck.

OP explained ages ago, and has again that petitions is in a sub section under classified. Time to move on now and get back to the topic!

Gunpowder · 14/08/2022 11:08

I didn’t know about this. I’ve signed the petition. I hope Fiona and Noah’s family get to find out the truth.

This 💯

The Irish media are reporting on it, including our state supported tv/radio service RTE.
Mainstream UK media please get on board.

Yes, the Daily Mail actually went against type and did some very good coverage of the Lawrence's campaign for justice for their dearly loved son Stephen. Noah's story has been described as 'NI's Stephen Lawrence moment'.

The BBC report on the rally for Noah is only in the local NI section, not on the main UK or worldwide pages.

Unfortunately some of the reports are grossly underreporting the numbers of people at the rally. I feel embarrassed for those media outlets actually choosing to do that and we again have to wonder why they are - just like with the shockingly dreadful Sunday Independent headline and 'report' last weekend. The BBC has got it right: thousands.

@BelfastsChild thank you for posting and being so tenacious. I like others wasn't aware and I'm off to twitter now to retweet and shout about the festival (and find some Kleenex).

tinplantpot · 14/08/2022 11:11

@BelfastsChild it was on the homepage yesterday afternoon when I looked about 4pm once I got home

BluOcty · 14/08/2022 11:18

So glad you have been moved back to chat. This is hardly a petition it's a crucial matter of accountability and transparency for a child.

sundayvibeswig22 · 14/08/2022 11:18

Well done Feile for supporting Noah and his families search for justice. Made the hairs on my arms stand up.

BelfastsChild · 14/08/2022 11:24

Thank you @Gunpowder

Fiona's petition now has 325,228 signatures but needs more and more! Please do sign and share as far and wide as you can everyone if you haven't already. I'm not allowed by MNHQ to link directly to it here - we'd probably get moved or my post would just be deleted! - but if you search online for Change and then Release The Noah Donohoe Files you should find it. Alternatively, go to the Petitions and Activism topic on here in Classified and you will find previously moved threads with a link in the OP. You can also search Noah Donohoe on here and previous threads will come up.

The passion and love towards Noah and his family was breath taking yesterday.

I don't think PII stands a chance now, they cannot ignore the crowd's yesterday who'd no choice but to stop traffic as nothing was planned around the eve.

The Rally was definitely expected, the number of people weren't expected.

If they continue pushing forward with the PII the army will be louder while growing every day.

BelfastsChild · 14/08/2022 11:42

Thank you @Lysianthus - that's brilliant to hear.

If you are going on Twitter, please may I suggest you read and retweet this pinned thread, and also this podcast by Fiona, also mentioned by @EmeraldShamrock1 in a pp? More Kleenex will be needed, and probably anti-blood pressure pills, sorry. They give lots of factual information for those new to Noah's story, and the thread is updated too.

Made the hairs on my arms stand up.
It's just amazing to see and hear, isn't it, @sundayvibeswig22 ? It made me think that those young people are the future of NI and they are not going to put up with things like what has happened to Noah in 2020 and the authorities' mishandling of it still in 2022.

Aren't these young people still at risk. I asked about this earlier but understandably there is a lot going on and posts are easily missed. Noah hadn't deliberately got mixed up with dodgy people like you say this came to him. Who says it won't happen again. Whoever did this is still out there feeling untouchable as they've literally got away with murder. I'd feel so scared letting my dc out my sight.

BelfastsChild · 14/08/2022 11:51

I hope you're right, @EmeraldShamrock1 - no, to use Fiona's terminology and positivity, I believe you are right.
