To show you what a few traffic-stopping Mumsnetters got up to in the sun today?

These were the scenes outside hot and sunny Belfast City Hall earlier today as quite a few Mumsnetters joined thousands of other people in stopping the traffic for Noah Donohoe.

I'll post a few more photos too.

That's disgusting. Fancy doing such a despicable thing. Angry

Just to let everyone know this is still an issue, unfortunately. One link being posted online takes you through to a site called teechip. The design is even stolen from a legitimate supporter of the campaign and was used at the rally. Please beware.

As I said before, if you see something for sale 'for Noah' please check, check and triple check where the money is going. It is one thing to cover costs when acting with good intentions but quite another to try to make a profit from Noah's story. I know that some people have chosen to have a t-shirt printed for themselves, perhaps because they couldn't get hold of a Bourke one which are sometimes sold out in certain sizes - that is different and perfectly fine. The official ones are only sold directly by Bourke Sports themselves.

From Niamh Donohoe:
'We are very clear. We are inclusive of all. Anyone who wishes to support & take on our fight with us is welcome. All parties were publicly invited to attend, represent & speak. These are the people who accepted. No party or person will ever 'hi jack' our quest for the truth.'
From Fiona Donohoe:
'It is very easy for people to judge parties involvement when those same people have not walked in my shoes.'

Some newspaper coverage of Saturday's rally:

it's great the newspapers are covering this.

BelfastsChild · 15/08/2022 19:57

Here's Mr Damage Limitation himself Shailesh Vara, speaking to the BBC today. The information about 'hundreds of pages' - almost 600 - he dismisses actually came from a coroners court hearing. Local media in his Cambridgeshire constituency have also reported on his signing of the PII Certificate, and concerned members of the public - including some Mumsnetters, thank you all! - have also raised the issue with him and his team via email, letter, Twitter and FB:

Thank you @catandcoffee 💙

The algorithms seem to have changed now, so we won't be in Active after each post anymore. It seems to take a few posts - not sure how many.

Mr Vara was only in the job for a couple of weeks when he signed it. I can't accept there was any 'careful consideration'. For all his faults, his predecessor Brandon Lewis hadn't yet signed it when he resigned.

He does seem like the scapegoat who didn't give much thought to the consequence for his actions.

He has a choice now to retract his signature or put his foot down, either way he is facing a rough ride and someone will be disappointed.

I hope he does the right thing.

Really hoping the press and coverage shames Vara into reviewing this properly. Absolutely disgusting that so much is being concealed.

Really hoping for good things.

What's next up?
