Things that are now forever named after something your kid said

In our household, I make a rice dish sometimes that is named after my son's reaction to it when he was about 3. Knowing he liked rice and sweetcorn, I presented him with this dish that includes both, only for his little face to crumple and him to give an anguished cry of 'MUMMY, WHY DID YOU DO THAT TO IT?!'

So of course, it has ever since been known as 'Mummy why did you do that to it?!' (I've even crossed out the name in the recipe book and written it there). DS is now 11 and actually likes MWDYDTTI these days, although he still leaves the green peppers.

Is there anything that your household now refers to by something memorable one of the kids has said?

And my daughter sometimes has 1 to 1 tuition for horse riding /acting but she calls it "1 v1" lessons. Which to be fair, given how strong willed she is, might also be how her teachers feel about them!

Justcashnosweets · 28/01/2024 12:56

My Mum has a set of stepladders that my nephew used to call 'yadders'. They are forever known as yadders and said nephew is now 22. 🤣

Mum2DD · 28/01/2024 13:52

My stepdaughter excitedly pointed at a canon and christened it a ‘pirate shooter’. That is now the correct term as far as I am concerned!

Everyoneissobusy · 28/01/2024 13:57

My 'children ' may both be in their 20's but the cat's little door is still referred to as the 'flap flap' 🐈‍⬛

A trampoline is always called a jumpoline.
Milk is cow juice.
Chocolate is always tockalot.
Knickers are butt bras 🤷‍♀️ my child is crazy but funny.

A trampoline here is a "bouncy lean".

Deathraystare · 28/01/2024 17:28

Callum Rice which was actually semolina coloured a fetching 'battleship grey'. Mum was at her wits end trying to get my little brother to eat anything. My Aunt told her she put blue colouring in her son Callum's semolina so Mum tried it and it ended up grey. More importantly, my brother ate it up!

Knockers instead of binoculars. About 30 years ago in Lanzarote a family had arrived up the volcano, or whatever, just before us and the lovely little boy asked for his mum's knockers. I've never forgotten it and we still use the phrase now. (His mum was so embarrassed at the time)

KarenNotAKaren · 28/01/2024 21:35

When DD was 3 she looked at the TV and asked who Juergen Klopp was. When we told her she pulled a face and said “Clippity Clop?”. So he is now Clippity Clop clip in our
