I know they bleed blood but what other things did you notice about them?

Yes and they are some of the nicest people I've ever met. All their own work nothing inherited. Sold his company for a huge amount.

Worked for others, not so nice.
Just like "ordinary" people really!

We have done work for someone in Forbes top 300 billionaire list. Workaholic.

His staff DH met were all decent people who were very protective of their boss. Nothing was ever a problem heard lots of good things about the guy and how much money he actually gives away, but avoids the media like the plague and won't give them any information (fair enough). It's disappointing to read anything negative about him written by people who clearly don't know the guy or how he conducts his businesses and wealth.

"Rich people do not hoard money, their money is being put to work for them."

What I actually said is that the super rich hoard wealth. In the form of multiple, huge, properties used a couple of days a year, and all the other examples of waste on this thread. Though in fact the way the rich can 'put their money to work' whereas the poor have to spend theirs to survive is another form of hoarding.

@StillHappy

Personally I would strongly urge anyone to treat their own DC with fresh minds and thoughts.
What someone else did because they had X is completely irrelevant to your DC. I know very wealthy people who lost it.
Your DC may need help, they may have other issue's who knows.
I wouldn't treat my DC in one way over major decisions because X did b and found y.

Definitely fell into two categories of older established "national treasure" sorts who were largely delightful, well mannered and quite apologetic a lot of the time about putting you out, and younger more Hollywood types who could be much more " I'll just throw money at it, fuck it let's hire a helicopter!"
Making quite big generalisations here but the old school monied types seemed to have their heads screwed on about looking after the pennies and the younger crowd who seemed to think that age would never catch up with them and they could spend money like water. Often the younger ones were much more brash and arrogant.
You could collaborate much better with the more mature people as they would listen and work with you, and have a sense of what is realistic and what isn't, whereas the youngsters would expect you to listen to their ridiculous ideas ( " Hey, let's cover the Eiffel Tower in custard!") and get mightily pissed off if you didn't immediately agree they were a genius.
