Am I unusually heavy for my size or do I have reverse body dysmorphia?

Name change as this is incredibly obviously outing if you know me at all.

I’m often seeing threads with women saying they weigh X amount and are Y size, or have a low BMI and wear a larger size than me or think they need to lose weight. I can’t tell if I am unusually dense (yes I’m aware that muscle is ‘heavier’ but I’m not an elite athlete by any stretch!), or just think I look much slimmer than I actually do 😂

I’m about 166cm. What do I weigh and what clothing size do I wear?

These threads are always brutal, some of the replies!

I just wonder what the point is or what the OP hopes to gain from it? There's always going to be some vociferous fat haters who say everyone is at least a size 20...

I’m going to say size 10-12 and about 10 stone.

Feel sorry for the other lady who doesn’t feel slim, when she clearly is.

Don't feel too sorry for me! I just think I look pretty average and not especially slim but on paper, at 5.8 and 10 stone, I should be waif-like!

@WTF475878237NC

here you go… Taken today. I am 3 inches taller than the OP, for reference.

(excuse the boob squidge on the front on pic).

You look about the same size as me so I'm going to say a size 16 and 11-12 stone

Iamthewalnut · 04/08/2022 11:23

You have solid thighs and a slender waist, which probably means you take a smaller dress size than if it were the other way round. I'd guess you weigh 11.5 stone and wear a size 10.

I'm the same height as you and my friend who is also the same height and weighs 11.5 stone was debating recently whether to buy a dress in a size 10 or a 12. I couldn't believe it because when was 11.5 stone I was a 14 pushing a 16. I haven't been able to fit in a size 10 since I was 8 stone something!

I would think you're a 14-16 but I'm no good at guessing weight. It's normal for people to be over weight now (as so much of the population is) so people see that as being normal. For example you should be able to see a child's ribs but a lot of people would see that as being bad or too skinny. We generally just can't tell any more what being overweight means.

@Staynow

So true
So many obese, overweight people in the UK that people that are a bit large are considered normal weight / look.
The women you see in documentaries of England in the 40's even to the 70's that's what normal looks like in other countries.

Then again if beauty, health and weight is subject to trends then what we see here is normal and slim.

xogossipgirlxo · 04/08/2022 11:24

60-63 kg, size 10-12

rainbowandglitter · 04/08/2022 11:24

I'd say around 13 stone and size 14-16.

Ego wank.

ILikeHotWaterBottles · 04/08/2022 11:25

You look like a similar build to me, but a bit slimmer and more toned. I'd say 14/16 bottoms, 10/12 top, and around 12-13 stone. Maybe a little heavier.

LoveBugBride · 04/08/2022 11:26

Lovely figure OP I am guessing size 10-12 and about 11stone

ButteryNuts · 04/08/2022 11:26

About 12.5st- 13st, size 14/16. Your weight looks well distributed and you look good.

StrychnineInTheSandwiches · 04/08/2022 11:26

Whenever someone gives their height in cm and their weight in kg I have to google it to see what it mean in feet and stone.

StrychnineInTheSandwiches · 04/08/2022 11:28

If the OP is 5'4" I would say she weighs 12 st 7lbs and is a size 14.

ScarlettOHaraHamiltonKennedyButler · 04/08/2022 11:28

I am roughly the same height and you look similar sized to me but with bigger boobs so I would guess about 9.5/10 stone and a size 10 but sometimes a 12 on the top.

SirVixofVixHall · 04/08/2022 11:29

DelphiniumBlue · 04/08/2022 10:06

Size 10, maybe 9 1/2 stone?

I agree with this.

Exactly what I was going to say. 12 and a half stone and a comfy size 14.

Mamapep · 04/08/2022 11:32

Size 12
10.5-11 stone

Mamapep · 04/08/2022 11:32

(you look great too!)

Littleduck80 · 04/08/2022 11:19

I can't be the only person who thinks it's batshit that we're just happily guestimating the body weight and size of a random woman? Sure, OP asked for it but it's a weird trend to be encouraging.

People bodies are different, stop comparing your numbers with others and be happy in your own skin.

So weird, isn't it? I mean who the hell posts full length pics of themselves posing online for everyone to see anyway? 😆
The poses are trying to make them look slimmer anyway (holding their tummy's in/leg in front etc) what's the actual point?!

Blueink · 04/08/2022 11:35

14 top, 16 trousers, weight between 12.5 to 13 stones

Fairyliz · 04/08/2022 11:35

When I see threads like this I always think I must have bones made of foam.
I’m 5ft 6in and weigh 9 stones but take a size 12 in most shops but a size 14 in others. I’m always astounded when people are smaller and heavier than me but say they are only a size 10.

FlorrieFosdyke · 04/08/2022 11:37

I think you look similar to me.
I'm clothes size 10 and weigh about 10 stone.

VintageVest · 04/08/2022 11:37

I think there are a lot of bullshitters online OP and weight is a topic that might not garner 100% truthful replies. Also womens dress sizes can vary so much from shop to shop, people have different body shapes, like a tighter or looser fit, and then of course there's those clinging on to a size that they grew out of some time ago.

You do have a lovely shape, but you shouldn't compare yourself to Mumsnet replies to determine if you are a healthy weight. Check your BMI and go from there. There are a large amount of overweight people in the UK and on mumsnet who have lost sight of what a healthy weight looks like so their opinion, whilst very flattering, isn't very accurate.

It is crazy isn't it? I'm the same height and size and weigh 3 stone more than you! I actually find these threads weirdly reassuring because it shows just how individual we all are.
