Depends on size of engine etc.
I would guess around £40ish

quietlycontent · 28/07/2022 00:11

Today in our diesel estate I reckon I spent about £25 in 2 1/2 hours

ShowOfHands · 28/07/2022 00:14

Did it today. Cost £15 or thereabouts.

If you averaged 60mph, that would be 120 miles. If your car can do about 60mpg at that sort of speed then it's 2 gallons ~ 9 litres. So at nearly £2 per litre that'd be a bit under £18.

AyeUpMeDuck · 28/07/2022 00:24

There's places online that'll tell you exactly how much it'll cost.

I just put in Hull to Brum. Petrol cost of 1.80 and doing 45mpg and it'd cost 25.33p mostly.motorway

WinterMusings · 28/07/2022 00:43

It's late, but I think about £20.

Passthewinebottle · 28/07/2022 00:51

Surely it depends hugely on car/size/age/maintenance

smooththecat · 28/07/2022 00:54

About £15 in my car

Yes, and it depends on whether you drive efficiently or not (optimum speed for your car, not braking harshly or over-revving etc).

smooththecat · 28/07/2022 00:57

About £45 in a Ferrari

MintJulia · 28/07/2022 00:58

My car, about £18, assuming a constant speed of 57mph

smooththecat · 28/07/2022 00:59

£70 in a Roller

Yarnasaurus · 28/07/2022 01:03

About £20 in my car.

How long is a piece of string?

If there was heavy traffic and you were in a hybrid it could be hardly anything as you wouldn't go very far and could be using the electric a lot of the time.

At the other end of the scale if you sped along in a sports car or 4x4 it could be £50/60 or more.

Why do you want to know?

£40?!?! If you're driving a coach perhaps!

LadyHelenaJustina · 28/07/2022 23:28

Ours would use 4 gallons, so about £30
