Definitely the long one.

We got a very stylish toaster a few years ago that does the 4 slices. We’ve cursed it ever since. Can’t do big slices or pita. Matches the stupid espresso machine though. 😂 But can’t wait to have a less annoying one as soon as it dies.

A few years ago I asked the same, and lots of research later, I bought a SAGE 4 slice 'little bit more' toaster. I don't think my exact model is still available, but the link is a similar, but 2 toast one. Yes, mine is extreme extravagance, but I too couldn't find anything that fitted longer piece of bread. It also has a crumpet/bagel and fruit toast setting to avoid burning.

I have this toaster, it's made by Graef.

We've got the Cookworks one like in the photo but in black and an earlier version.

Do you mean something like this?

Dualit toaster. Don’t have a 2 slice one anymore upgraded to the 6 slicer, but it used to get big slices of sourdough in it. Our current one gets DH’s doorstops of bread in and the slots are the nice and wide just like our old one.

Irishmummy · 26/07/2022 09:15

This is the one I have but I do have to turn longer sourdough slices as the end sticks out. It fits a Warburton slice of bread ( essential in this house!!!)

I’ve got a Kenwood, I had exactly the same toast requirements as you 😁
had it a few years, it’s been fine. Wasn’t expensive, from memory.

I've got the Dualit one a PP linked to above. Can recommend it.

Downsides are it's expensive and I think the finish doesn't look quite as good as other Dualit toasters because the black part is plastic rather than metal.

Plus points are that despite what I said above, it's better looking than 95% of toasters and it's good quality; we've had ours for 6 years with no problems.

Old fashioned 2 long slots (for 4 slices) cheapo toaster.
Lie bread on side not upright (so only does 2 at a time).

OnaBegonia · 26/07/2022 10:04

Delonghi 4 slice , not found anything it doesn't fit yet.

AmazonGroupie · 26/07/2022 14:31

Oh amazing thanks so much for the tips! Lots to choose from, thank you.

Definitely do not buy the KitchenAid one. It's terrible. Seems to burn everything I put in it no matter what setting it's on.

Howlongwillthistake · 26/07/2022 15:42

Google Kenwood 4 slice long toaster. They're fantastic, are adjustable for thickness and you can check the toast halfway through without switching it off.

This is the one we have too (photo up thread)! I love the little lever which lets you see how it’s doing
