Would you enjoy going on holiday with just your kids without your dh?

And do you think that’s normal

I enjoy it when dh comes on holiday with us but it’s more relaxed if he doesn’t

I often take dc away without dh sometimes because he can't get time off (I'm off all summer( but other times he can't be arsed going with my family- fair enough.

I much prefer it when we’re all together tbh. He makes my life easier not harder!

I've been single for a long time, so yes, always just DC and I on holidays. Even when I was married, it was only DC and I on holidays as his father refused to come. He consider holidays an unnecessary expense

When we were younger my mum and her sisters use to take us kids camping without the husbands/dads!!!

They would come for a long weekend over BH and join us and it was fun but my mum and sisters were so close and had their own little routines (they all went there as kids with their parents) they left us to it 🤣🤣🤣

We also went camping as a family to France and neither seemed better than the other - just different experiences.

Thanks for all the opinions
guess there’s nothing bad about not being joint at the hip, misisng each other occasionally and then having plenty to catch up on later

Single parent so always just been me and the kids. I would have been the opposite and found it weird having a partner with me as it was always just us

Lulu1919 · 23/07/2022 12:55

I did this a few times when the children were around 8 -10 years old
In uk ..it was great fun
We did caravan / lodge parks mainly

I’d love it! No sulking when things don’t go exactly how he wants it to. No grumpiness because he’s “tired”. No feeling guilty when he opts out of things that he doesn’t choose to do. Ahhh it would be perfect.

I would LOVE to do this!
