Can people who are sick with viruses, just stay away from others and stop passing your sickness around

I met a friend for breakfast the other morning and he mentioned he was sick the night before with a 24 hour dose. He said he tested for covid but it was negative.

Fuck covid.

What makes it ok to pass whatever dose he does have around to other to other people? It doesn't have to be covid. Stop passing sickness around to other people and isolate yourselfs for 24 hours with a dose/sickness and let it pass before meeting with others.

We've been through two and half years of a pandemic with public health guidelines. Many of those guidelines are sound not only in relation to covid but towards other illnesses too.

Just isolate away from people when you have a dose and when you are sick and stop being so fucking selfish.

The dose I picked up from him and the sickness I got was something fucking else. It was absolutely fucking hideous. Stuff coming out both ends - at the same time. Finally getting to sleep to be woken up with diarrhoea and a mess in my pants. Never trust a fart when ill.

I was talking to him on the phone and there's 3 different families (close contacts of him) now all sick with the same dose and so close after having covid too. Its horrific. He said on the phone - 'there's a dose going around' and I wanted to stop him and tell him, no, he's spreading his sickness around.
