Is it bad manners to give your adult dc ideas of what you'd like for your birthday?

I'm thinking of very low cost ideas. Things you might not buy yourself but would be delighted to receive. Or is it better to say nothing & be grateful regardless?

My mum now struggles to pick things even after she's asked and I've suggested so no I say if it's easier just give me money. I don't think that's particularly cheeky.

I mean I'm talking £30 not 300.

Why not? It's not bad manners at all.

I have an Amazon wishlist with items from $5 - $200+. That way if my sons (5) would like to go in on something bigger there are ideas. They love it.

Long as it's not super expensive. My MIL always wants expensive things and always feel put out by it.

Mine always ask , it’s my birthday soon and I’m having a garden arbour from one ( it’s already in my garage awaiting construction) and the other one has been given ideas . The other thing I have told my son is that I’d rather have biscuits than chocolates as he’s very good at dropping in with flowers / chocolates at odd times .

No, and I'd hope you'd ask them what they would like for theirs.
