Flights to New York

Would really like to go to New York in august but worried that flights will be cancelled. Would you risk it?

I'm going to NY in August to see family. Next year we are holidaying in Scandinavia. Which is also sweltering in terrible heat at the moment. At least most places in US have aircon. Including my cousin's house.
