Erm...how can I explain this to my dentist?

I have a chipped tooth. It doesn't cause me problems but when I'm getting 'intimate' with my husband it's scratched his penis badly enough to draw blood.

My dentist tells me that there's no need to do anything with it as the nerve is dead so it can't cause me pain so how the hell do I explain why I need it sorted?

how do some people manage to get through life with the questions they ask on here? For the love of god your dentist doesn’t want to hear it. Ask to have your tooth sorted and crack on (pun intended) Hmm

How do some people manage to get through life without a sense of humour?
For the love of god, lighten up.

If you're embarrassed to say it scratched your husband's penis, could you say it was some bloke at the bus stop?

😂😂😂

Definitely the funniest post I've seen in a while

Op! Just say your tooth catches your lip or tongue causing it to bleed

How long till we get a request to nominate for classics?

I get it's supposed to be funny but surely anyone would know to say it just scratches their tongue or something??

i think OP was aiming for classics. Or at least ‘I’ve just laughed so hard I’ve woken the baby/ spit my tea out laughing/ told DH about this and we’re shaking with laughter’ etc

Squiff70 · 20/07/2022 22:17

Just tell the dentist the truth. If the dentist is a man, he'll sort your tooth out instantly and not charge you a penny.

Just say it catches your tongue. Im a dental nurse and if physically die if you mentioned anything about BJs. A patient once said he TMJ issues were worsened by sexual activities and I don't know how I survived that appointment 😂

My GP asked how my TMD was impacting my life and I said it was affecting my sex life (amongst other things), because it was!

She just nodded and carried on typing, so presumably that's in my NHS records forever.

NotMushroomInEre · 20/07/2022 22:34

Tell your dentist that whilst you've given your dp oral sex, you've scratched his penis with your broken tooth.

Isausernameavailable · 20/07/2022 22:35

You don't need to explain, just say you would prefer to get it fixed, and do it as private payment then it's your choice

riserved · 20/07/2022 22:53

Easily built up with a bit of dental composite, just ask. I'm weirdly assuming this is genuine.

PearlClutch · 20/07/2022 22:54

Don't mind me, just here joining the queue for the bus-stop.

HouseInTheHills · 20/07/2022 22:57

I wouldn’t be rushing to make a dentist appointment. 🤣

kateandme · 20/07/2022 23:03

It doesn’t matter.if u want a chip fixing then you get the chip fixed. Also a chip is a chip and once damaged has weakened the tooth so make it more susceptible to further damage. Always always fix teeth before that get further.
but yes say it’s making your tongue sore as it catches and also say it’s slowly rubbing on your lip giving you an ulcer.

MontanaMountains · 20/07/2022 23:15

So your dentist doesn't offer any cosmetic dentistry? Yeah right. Cosmetic work is what most of them focus on these days.

This is also funny.

Love the bus stop comment, even if this is a troll it was worth it for that comment

MissMaple82 · 20/07/2022 23:24

Say it causes you pain! I chipped my tooth and was having pain, my dentist tried telling me nothing needed doing as it won't be causing pain! Errrrr yes dickhead it's causing me pain! They eventually and reluctantly filled it

mm40 · 20/07/2022 23:33

😂😂😂 beauty. Where is this bus stop? (Asking for a friend)

MyGhastIsFlabbered · 21/07/2022 05:14

@onmobile no not aiming for classics or anything, and obviously I have no intention of mentioning BJs to my dentist. I thought it was a humorous tale that might entertain some people so I posted it. And it has...by way of the bus stop comment at least.

But my dentist is NHS so likes to undertake the minimum amount of work possible. (As an interesting aside my phone just tried to autocorrect 'amount' to 'Amish' Confused)
