Car said 41 on my drive home from Heathrow

39 here at the moment and it's beautiful 😍

Local weather station is reading 37.

It has crept up to 30 here in Central Scotland, which is about the hottest I can remember where we live.

Currently 39 according to phone app, South London

40 in Derbyshire.

Hve just hung thermometer from the branch of a bush. It is hanging in the shade halfway down the garden, but my god, the heat on our sunny patio. Once I've taken a reading in the shade, I'll do one in full sun, just to see the difference.

Years ago I got a reading in full sun on our patio of 127f so it will be interesting to find out what it is today.

40.1 in Chilterns. Horrendous.

Outside 39 according to my phone, but our basement kitchen is mercifully only 28.

38 degrees on my road in Suffolk according to Google.

Temperature on the patio is the same as in the greenhouse at 46.

Some serious gusts of wind are happening right now. Picked up from nowhere. Wish I could say cool breeze but sadly not - more like someone blowing a hairdryer on hot in your face is the best way to describe it.

34 in the house. North York’s on the east coast.

27 and overcast south of Bristol. It was 35 and sunny earlier but has suddenly cooled right down and we've just had some blissful spots of rain! It's great.

BBC says 36-37 in my area (Essex) - but the impact varies depending on where you are. Back garden (high hedges and partially shaded) feels more like 32. Outside the school gate (full sun, heat reflected from windows and black rubberised pavement) felt like the gates of hell.

Raining in central Bristol now and about 29 degrees. Hope it floats over to the people with 40 plus temperatures, can't be much fun

Half an hour ago in our Beds garden it was 38.5 and I've just ventured out again - it has dropped very slightly.

It has officially reached 40 degrees here now. Intermittent power cuts and more fires reported. Local newspaper is having a field day.
