Are you drinking tea or coffee in this weather?

I know people say a cup of tea cools you down but I just had one and it didn’t! I don’t like soft drinks either so I’m only drinking water all day long. What are you drinking and are you still drinking tea and coffee as normal?

Still but more water than tea, only three cups today.

BOOTS52PollyPrissyPants · 18/07/2022 21:24

making iced coffee with soya milk, water really refreshing and lots of room temp water. If it is too cold have to keep peeing all the time and have a fan on also.

Sartre · 18/07/2022 21:27

I always drink 2 cups of coffee in the morning without fail, cold drinks the rest of the day.

I make iced lattes. Fill a glass 2/3 full of ice, fill the glass to 3/4 full with milk of your choice, top up with strong coffee - a double espresso or strong instant coffee. Even nicer with a shot of caramel and a squirt of cream.

Hawkins001 · 18/07/2022 21:57

I'm pretty much tea total in all weathers, sometimes it's nice to have some Apple or orange juice on the side, but other than that, it's tea.

Hawkins001 · 18/07/2022 21:58

Or quoting Captain Janeway, there is coffee in that nebula.

uncomfortablydumb53 · 18/07/2022 23:06

I'm having two mugs of coffee with just a dash of milk, leaving to go tepid before I drink
It's probably just me but I find milk tastes claggy in the heat
I switch to water/ vimto afterwards

justasking111 · 18/07/2022 23:08

Lots of earl grey, water a couple of pepsi Max. Only one coffee at breakfast.

Crunchymum · 19/07/2022 06:20

5 cups of Yorkshire tea, 1 chamomile tea before bed and 2L of water for me yesterday.

ObviouslyNotNow · 19/07/2022 06:37

I can’t face boiling the kettle as it’ll heat up the kitchen (gas hob) so it’s espresso over ice, topped up with milk, for me.

KatherineJaneway · 19/07/2022 06:39

Yes I am. Had the fan on me so any sweat from drinking hot liquids immediately cooled me down.

JennyForeigner · 19/07/2022 06:39

I bought some Godiva chocolate flavoured coffee by mistake. It makes fantastic iced coffee - I make a big pot in the morning, stick in the fridge and it doesn't need sugar. Lush.

greenacrylicpaint · 19/07/2022 06:58

I have one hot coffee outside inthe morning and makemyself a jug of tea that I cool down and put in the fridge to drink later with a spritz of lemon juice.

wheresmymojo · 19/07/2022 07:01

Coffee as normal, but also plenty of cold drinks in between.

NCHammer2022 · 19/07/2022 07:02

Iced coffee, orange squash, but mostly water.

I’m having a cup of tea now, but am sat in the garden while it’s still only 21 degrees.

GuyFawkesDay · 19/07/2022 07:03

Iced coffee ( coffee pod shot, loads of ice, cold milk and hazelnut syrup) will get me going after a sweaty hot night.

After that, squash all the way. Fridge is topped up.

Rehydration wise, milk is excellent as body takes longer to digest so milk is a good one to remember rather than glugging loads of water which you also then pee out fast.

toooldtocarewhoknows · 19/07/2022 11:00

I'm really really missing my tea. I drink upwards of 10 very weak cups a day from a pot, about 3 teabags in total.

In this heat I can only drink it whilst in a tepid bath so my body temperature doesn't soar.

It's been the biggest thing I'm missing. Silly I know. I think I'm a creature of habit.

easyday · 19/07/2022 11:02

Tea yes and iced coffee.

CuriousCatfish · 19/07/2022 11:05

Yes lots of coffee s normal. I don't like iced coffee.

PeloAddict · 19/07/2022 11:11

Tea all day as usual (5-6 mugs) plus the odd iced coffee and lots of water
Had 3 mugs of tea so far

Runningupthathill01 · 19/07/2022 12:10

I had one cup of tea this morning at 7am but no more today as it is just too hot here.

DappledThings · 19/07/2022 17:56

Just making my 4th cup of tea of the day. There's no temperature that would stop me wanting it.

KangarooKenny · 19/07/2022 18:22

Lots of lovely tea, I find it thirst quenching.

ZimZamZoom · 19/07/2022 18:25

I am definitely not drinking hot drinks (not even eating hot food yesterday or today).

I've been having a lot of water, Dalston's cans and alcohol-free Erdingers.

LaTangerina · 19/07/2022 18:27

Yes I couldn't do without my caffeine 🙃
