Anyone else not that hot?

I was expecting to be dying today but am fine. Got a fan upstairs but not even feeling hot enough to bring it down yet. Just seems like a normal sunny day

Am near Manchester

I've got all the blinds shut and a fan on. Feel okay - warm but not melting. Haven't been outside yet though and I need to hang the washing out. Temp outside is 33

My uncle's spent the morning doing the times crossword in our local church. He says it's a nice steady 19 degrees in there.

😄

My dad recommends Wetherspoons. Free WiFi, unlimited coffee and AC Grin

PickAChew · 18/07/2022 13:46

30 here in Durham and like an oven in my south facing garden with all hard surfaces. About to wash my hair before my head explodes after popping outside for 2 minutes.

30 in Somerset but I am right on the seafront. Currently enjoying the warm breeze on the beach.

TrainBrainCrain · 18/07/2022 13:54

I’m in the midlands and it’s scorching here! I’m a district nurse and it’s been absolutely horrific in patients houses, been to one lady who had the fire on full! Had to ask her to turn it off. I have iced water and AC in the car so not too horrendous when driving between visits but as soon as I open the door I’m getting that ‘stepping off a plane’ feeling but without the holiday!

i have a really good fan so once work is done I’m stripping off, having a cold
shower then lying on the bed all evening! Feeling very very sorry for my fellow nurses who work on wards though

KangarooKenny · 18/07/2022 13:55

It’s not as hot a I thought it was going to be. I’m sure it’s been hotter.

50mg · 18/07/2022 13:59

I think so far, it doesn't seem too bad. It's undoubtedly hot out, but it seems a dry heat and there's a nice breeze.

Somewhat counter intuitively, I followed advice and have had my (unairconditioned) office windows closed since about 9:30 and it's actually cooler in here than it was all last week. The advice is good afterall!

I'm worried for tomorrow because apparently it will be more humid

TipTopTurvy · 18/07/2022 13:59

35 here atm. I have today off but took icecreams into my team (retail) earlier as despite the aircon the doors are open and they are feeling it. My boss rolled their eyes but my team appreciated it. They did melt slightly on the 5 min drive though 🤣
At home, it's ok, but have had the house shut up. It will roast in the back bedrooms later tho.

YanTanTetheraPetheraPimp · 18/07/2022 14:00

34° here in rural north Wiltshire, it’s not too bad indoors (and I’m not venturing out!)
I’m happily sitting on the bed, in front of the fan, reading and waiting for a food shop delivery- I really feel sorry for all the delivery drivers in this weather, not to mention anyone working in enclosed environments like teachers and nurses, shop workers etc.

tigger1001 · 18/07/2022 14:03

Central Scotland and it's 27 degrees. I'm at work and thankfully in the back of the building and it doesn't get the sun, so relatively cool. However the rooms at the front are boiling. Big windows but little air

alllo · 18/07/2022 14:03

I'm struggling a bit. I think it'll be overnight that it will feel the worst as it's not going to cool down.

Carrieonmywaywardsun · 18/07/2022 14:05

35 degrees here near Norwich. I've got a fan in the room while I sit at my desk. It's cool enough I can focus on getting some life admin bits done, I was expecting to just be laying still all day! DD made a den in the bathroom as it's the coolest room and she's happy in there. It's hot outside though

Bigmouthshouthotair · 18/07/2022 14:06

Well currently 37 now here in the Middle and news gas just said 41 tomorrow

NoitsNott · 18/07/2022 14:13

Northeast - Feels like a normal "warm" day. No different from last week. I've not been outside at all today though so IDK how it is outside.

Wheretheskyisblue · 18/07/2022 14:14

34 outside in the South East, 22 degrees inside so sitting in shade in garden for a warm up. Our house normally starts to get more uncomfortable around 4pm ish.

ComDummings · 18/07/2022 14:14

It’s over 30 here now and not as bad as yesterday even though it’s hotter. Humidity has a lot to do with it I think.

ComDummings · 18/07/2022 14:15

Although tonight is going to be vile, 26 overnight for most of the night.

SirenSays · 18/07/2022 14:17

I confessed to friends on Friday that I didnt think it would feel that hot here. I was immediately jumped on and told I was wrong, it will be 40+ and we'd all melt...
It feels like another summer day and isn't as high as predicted. I'm resisting saying I told you so 🤣

RedRiverShore2 · 18/07/2022 14:19

I think it is the lack of humidity, slightly reminiscent of holidays in Greece when I go outside

Xiaoxiong · 18/07/2022 15:04

On the coast - the thermometer says 31c but it feels just like any other warm day, sea breeze and lots of trees/fields definitely makes a huge difference.

MikeWozniaksMoustache · 18/07/2022 15:07

It’s currently 35 degs in my baby’s room. We’re sleeping in the living room tonight as it’s only going to get hotter in there when the sun gets on it in a bit.

longcoffeebreak · 18/07/2022 15:10

It's 35 in Jersey it does feel a bit like a fan oven but it's fine in the shade.

Magnolia08 · 18/07/2022 15:58

30 degrees inside my house currently despite windows and blinds shut all day.

37 degrees outside 🥵

TattyBogart · 18/07/2022 16:11

I take it back
