Where to buy boys shorts that aren't bulky?

Both of my DS have little waists and skinny legs. Any draw string / chunky shorts fall down constantly. Does anyone have any recommendations for where to buy light, elasticated waisted shorts for little ones?

My DS is similar- just got him a three pack of lightweight shorts from TU in sainsburys. They had a real draw string waist, pockets and although still a bit big they are light weight enough to not bunch enormously. Sized down too.

Lots of places have the adjustable waistbands inside with the buttons, M&S is usually a good place to look

H and M are good for thin cotton shorts and joggers

Every summer i buy a multipack of pyjama shorts and t:shirts from asda for each of my skinny boys! These are worn as day clothes on hot days as they are light and comfortable

Primark often have nice ones with the adjustable waist. I got some really nice cotton ones from there last year. Next ones also have the adjustable waist. I have the same problem with my boys.

Second h & m and marks and spencer. My LO has long legs and is quite slim and a lot of shorts look really chunky on him, especially primark ones

I just got some really nice lightweight shorts in Decathlon for DS.

@tunainatin that's such a good idea- that's the sort of light shorts I mean, really comfortable and nothing around the waist really

H&M

H&M and Primark were the best for DS1 when he was a beanpole.

goldfinchonthelawn · 17/07/2022 23:04

M&S are useless - they seem to think all boys are chunky.

My DD bought her little one cycling shorts.

Go for a size or two smaller and long, if you can. Also cheap no-name shops sometimes have the really thin ones which are perfect.

I got a 3-pack from Next in various shades of blue last week. They're nice and light. DS is also skinny on the waist, he's 9 but size 8 fits perfectly.

I found some lovely pairs in primark girls section this evening!
