Does anyone recognise this song? Please help!

It came up on a random Spotify playlist and I meant to look it up, forgot and now the actual lyrics have gone out of my head, rendering Google useless.

I think it's '90's, britpop era. It's about a young couple living in a basement flat. They have a baby, then she kicks him out because of his drinking. There's something about them kissing on the sofa and life growing inside her (I think).

Does that ring any bells for anyone? I'd be so grateful if it could be identified!
