Are there any supermarkets that do a grocery delivery there?

Try Tesco - they deliver all over, not sure about fort Augustus, but I've had them in some pretty remote areas.

Sainsburys and Tesco. Is it for an AirBnb?

KittenKong · 15/07/2022 21:43

Yup - and you are a genius! Tesco do deliver!

the boy is off an a hiking holiday with his pals - and I worry they will live off packed noodles for two weeks (yes I know!). Thought I’d send some ‘real food’ to them!

Are they staying in a holiday let or actually trekking for 2 weeks? If not staying somewhere, I wouldn’t send loads of food as no one wants to carry loads of heavy stuff with them to prevent it going to waste. I can’t imagine there not being a shop within 20-30 minutes. We live very rurally but all the major shops deliver to us and we have a 24 hour Waitrose within reasonable driving distance. I’m sure he’ll be fine. Maybe ask if you can send him some money for the pub meals along the way?

@mindutopia lol at 24hr Waitrose. I'm assuming you've no idea how remote some places in Scotland are Confused

They have a flat as a base and will be going day hikes - so a hearty breakfast and pack some food before heading off, then food to throw together when they get back.

I should trust them but apparently DS is the ‘cheffy’ one on the gang…
