4/5 day abroad break- worth it?

Looking to just get some sun with 15 year old DS. We have a 10 yo DS who has ASD/ ADHD/ Epilepsy and we just don't feel he can go abroad. We've been on our family holiday (9 days touring Scotland in our new campervan- which was great) but I'm craving some proper, relaxing, foreign chill. DH is happy to stay home with DC3. I thought 4-5 day break would be fine as I don't want to be away from DC3 any longer.

Are short breaks like this worth it? Anyone been?

Thanks

I live in the south of the US and we often fly to the Caribbean for 4 or 5 nights which is probably a similar flight time to your flight to the Med.
it's definitely long enough for all of us, including my teenage DS. You get 3 or 4 good, long pool days, a nice meal in the evening and fly home before anyone gets bored!

I had a lovely weekend in Lisbon from Thursday afternoon to Saturday evening. I had worried the Saturday would be wasted but our hotel was central and held our backpacks for us. We spent that day at the monastery, walked to the tour de belem from there, stopped at a cafe on the riverside for a drink and pastry, walked back to the monastery, took a tram to a scenic terrace cafe overlooking the city and then walked back to the hotel. The day before we visited he aquarium which was one of the best we had seen and then went to the TimeOut market for food and some spectacular gelato.

I’ve been to Barcelona & Marbella for 3 nights each from Scotland. It was fab both times. Just time it to make the most of the time if you can.

Yes, I've done plenty short, city breaks, but was bit undecided if would be long enough by a pool, but sounds like plenty have done it.

Super, I'll start looking.

We go to Italy for 5 nights this week. That's long enough for me.

I just want my fix of cocktails, culture and heat (with air conditioned apartment!)

I've done a weekend in Majorca on the beach and three nights in Barcelona lying on the beach. Its totally doable.

Good luck op
