A and E now or wait for GP to open?

I've been having a shitty time lately both mentally and physically. I went to the gp today as I have been having bouts of dizziness and just not feeling right.

He checked my heart rate and said it was quite high, and given I've been experiencing dizziness and almost fainting a few times he wanted an ECG done to make sure there's nothing strange going on with my heart.

The nurses who do this had gone home for the day by the time I got out of my appointment so I planned to ring them in the morning and get it sorted.

I'm currently lying in bed and I can feel my heart is racing and I feel dizzy and nauseous. I really think this is being caused by anxiety and stress tbh, but I'm now getting sharp pains in the centre of my chest and I don't know if I should wake dh up to take me to hospital or try and hold out until 8.30 when the doctors opens?

I really don't want to go to a and e and make a big fuss tbh but it's scaring me a little.

@AlwaysSomethingWaiting are you still experiencing chest pains? You should definitely get them checked out tonight, don't wait until the morning

NeedToLeaveNow · 15/07/2022 03:24

Go to the hospital
Dont wait…
A ECG cant rule out a heart attack completely
You will need blood tests too

Kittykat93 · 15/07/2022 03:37

I've had this recently but mine is severe stress. I think yours is likely too but obviously chest pains are something to get checked out to rule heart issues so go and do that.

Same here.

However, we can't tell online if the chest pain is something serious.

I hope you've managed to get to A&E OP it's always better to be safe than sorry

Sarahlou677 · 15/07/2022 05:06

Even if you waited for the gp to open as soon as you say chest pain they will send you to a&e. Best be safe and get checked

Rosebud21 · 15/07/2022 05:33

A&E, you need ECG & bloods at least, why waste 111s time
