Miss congeniality is silly but good fun , I also love Stardust.

GrouchyKiwi · 14/07/2022 21:32

More votes for Stardust and She's The Man.

Cold Comfort Farm is perfect and lovely and funny.
The Importance of Being Earnest, and The Good Husband are lovely adaptations of Oscar Wilde's works.
Always Be My Maybe.

Plus I love disaster movies for cheering up purposes, the more ridiculous the better. Top marks go to Independence Day and 2012.

Depends why you’re down I think. I’m struggling with depression at the moment due to a breakup and I can’t watch anything lovey dovey as it just reminds me of my ex. Following for some non-love based film ideas!

goldfinchonthelawn · 14/07/2022 21:37

Legally Blonde is my cheer up film when I have flu. Seen it loads of times and never get bored of it.

I also love Chocolat with Juliette Binoche.

And Groundhog Day - that's a marmite film but it's very uplifting to me, so worth a look if you;ve never seen it.

I saw 10 things I hate about you in the cinema last week.
I'd forgotten how much I love it.

MarshaMelrose · 14/07/2022 21:41

Go on YouTube and get up Greg Davies on Graeme Norton and listen to his stories. I defy you not to laugh, ar the very least chuckle or snigger. It'll put you in the mood for your film!

Sorry you're having a bad time. I hope it passes soon.

ShrillSiren22 · 14/07/2022 21:42

People Places Things is my go to film when I’m feeling a bit down. Really easy watching, genuinely funny and heartwarming. I don’t think it gets anywhere near the attention it deserves.
