How are we all doing at the end of term?

After weeks of school trips, performances, fairs and the like we are nearing the finish line.

DS is coming to the end of primary school and told me was finding these weeks a bit much and I told him mums and dads are as well! But at least the trips and performances are done - both kids had one the last two nights and seeing as Dh still recovering from Covid it was just me going.

Oldest (14) has lower-school leaving bash tonight and is planning on an outfit they'll be boiling in, but I'm sure won't change their plan - I'm relieved there's a breeze so today isn't actually all that sweltering; other than probably picking them up after at least I finally have a night to myself. It's also their school fair this weekend (DSs was last weekend).

Then there just remains DS' leaving assembly next week - they both have 'fun' stuff scheduled but oldests' school may have to move around stuff for Mon and Tues due to crazy heat.

Where are you at with the end of term maelstrom?

DD is at college and broke up on 1/7. So I'm fab with end of term and currently on holiday. Grin
Glad we aren't trying to do school through a heatwave.

Pretty quiet for us.dd year 12 is on a two week placement ending tomorrow, dd y7 has her last day tomorrow. I can't believe she's completed a whole year in secondary school.

We've still got 9 get ups at my school 😢 definitely ready for a break.

The girls break up next Friday & are looking forward to later mornings 🤣

I would say I'm looking forward to fewer alarms, but after two summers where neither DH nor I were going into an office and we mainly needed the alarm to get DS up for school, we will need to keep the alarm this time, as one or the other of us is usually going into work between Tues-Thurs. 😭
