Rubbish time in Greek hotel.

Myself and my teenage ds checked into our Greek holiday hotel this week. We are on ground floor room a metre away from a noisy reception. Our balcony is looking onto a bar which is less than 2 metres away. Noise from bar until midnight every night and noise from reception all day and night.

I am so disappointed with this holiday. I’ve tried asking hotel staff to see if we could move to be told no rooms. I then asked if we could be considered a different room when someone checks out. Again I got told no rooms and to shut my door. The music is blaring even with patio door shut and we can hear every conversation at reception.

i have heard several people checking in and out since our stay here.

i spoke to another member of staff about leaving the hotel early and if they would refund me, but they declined this. I was then offered another room but would need to pay an additional 50€ a night.

is it just a case of back luck and I need to suck it up? I have been polite to the staff at all times. Midnight here now so hopefully some peace from the bar side soon.

I would demand to see manager and demand to be moved.

Worst case scenario I would then pay the £50. I know it's a lot of money and also know this is a total rip-off, but if this is your only holiday, it would so be worth it.

Is it at all possible financially for you to move hotels?

I also agree with trip advisor either way. Let the hotel staff see you taking the pics too and if they ask let them know you're updating TA.

I wouldn't bother demanding anything personally, they're bad hosts and that alone would make me unable to enjoy the rest of my stay.

I'm getting flash backs, I've been in this exact scenario on many Spainish/Greek package holidays during my 20s. The blaring music around the pool is unbearable. I would get out to the beach as much as possible. And would honestly invest in some noise cancelling head phones just so you both don't lose your sanity!

Forgot to say i had a similar hotel once but it was only for a night while i transferred from airport in athens to an island. It was fine for its purpose, but wouldn't have been at all OK for a holiday.

It all depends on what you booked

Budget hotel in a well known party area? Suck it up!

porto sani? They will shut down the boise and move you to a suite within minutes. But then our week holiday did cost £7k.

so it is all about what and where you booked in terms of what is reasonable to expect

Thanks for all your support 😊.

I don't have any speakers to play loud music unfortunately!

I’ve booked another hotel to stay in from tomorrow for the rest of our trip so hopefully our hols will improve greatly.

This hotel wanted an extra 50€ per night to change rooms, but after the way they have dismissed me, I would rather give another hotel my money.

The sun is shining and we are off on a day trip so going to try and forget about the hotel until it begins all over again tonight!

thanks again

You’ve definitely made the right decision op. Enjoy the rest of your holiday

I hope you’ve written a stinking review.
