Credit cards for teens

Looking to get a credit card for DD (age 18) just for her to have as a back up when travelling/at uni etc and also to help build her credit score for the future. Obviously for now I’d want the credit limit as low as possible as it would only be for small purchases/emergencies and I’m likely to be the one paying it off each month for the foreseeable (she’s not working currently due to chronic pain.) Just wondering if anyone has any experience/recommendations? TIA!

I doubt any company will give her a credit card when she has zero income

We had to get DD a second card on my account as she couldn’t have her own. We wanted her to have an emergency one at uni.

What Movebitch said.

DS is 22, has had a student account with his bank for 4 years and they still won't give him a credit card until he has been working in a permanent job for at least 6 months.
