Resort holidays with villa style rooms (washer, fridge, cooker ideally)

It's my 40th next year and my parents are gifting us a holiday. They were keen to do a villa which is what we have often done with the DC but eldest needs company of other children now. However the thought of having 10 days/2 weeks in just a hotel room is not my idea of fun. I'd like somewhere where at the very least we could prepare own breakfast/lunch but a washing machine and dishwasher would also be good.

We are not fussy re location but abroad ideally and close to a lovely beach.

I have had a look at Sani and Ikos but not sure that's my vibe, no offence to any one who loves as I know people do, I get the impression its Chanel sandals and Loui beach bags round the pool and super glam on an evening, I just don't have the energy to keep up with all that anymore! Prepared to be told I am being judgey though!

Have a look at Martinhal

WisteriaHysteria22 · 13/07/2022 12:33

Ah yes @Yodaisawally I was just looking at this, looks bloomin ideal. Only snag for me is the beach, we actually love Portugal but I just love going to the beach and the Atlantic coast makes me nervous with youngsters. It is just so much more unpredictable than the Med or Caribbean.

Yes I was going to suggest Martinhal too, or Princesa Yaiza in Lanzarote.

There's lots of places with apartments within a resort, stayed in Rhodes in a place with 2-3 bed townhouses with swim up mini pool but within a resort which you can choose up to ai (I chose b&b because I like eating out different places)

Yodaisawally · 13/07/2022 15:08

Some of the holiday villages have condos / duplexes with SC, Rhodes does

Yodaisawally · 13/07/2022 15:09

Sorry, Kos not Rhodes, Rhodes might do

We went self catering with Tui one year, nice two story apartment overlooking the pool had a balcony and a patio as well as a small kitchen with fridge, microwave and two ring burners. Some of the places were bigger than ours, we only needed one bedroom. There was a launderette near reception.

What was the name of the resort please? We want to go to Rhodes next year. Thank you.
