Meralgia parasthetica - burny thigh pain

I've had a burning sensation in my right thigh for over a year, the thigh can also be sensitive to touch. I've not seen a doctor as I googled and it said it can be due to weight gain - I'm not obese but have put on about a stone over the pandemic taking me to just under 11 stone (5'7).

This week the sensation is more painful. A dull ache that has kept me awake a couple of nights.

Has anyone had this for so long? Is there any point seeing a doctor?

Just on to commiserate with you . This started in my right thigh and I've had it for a few years. Dr had never heard of such a thing. 🙄 I do need to lose weight and that will help. Never pursued a medical route. Maybe others have 💖

Hello @Happylittlethoughts! Nice to have a fellow sore thigh person - well, you know what I mean!!

I'm a pear shape and all my weight goes on my thighs so maybe that's the problem.

I don't think I'll see a doctor, not until I've tried getting some weight off.

Nobody believes me when I say how it feels, there's a running joke in my house that I'm always screeching about my bad leg 😫
