Is there a way to find out if a child's passport has been cancelled?

As per the title. Google isn't helping. No phone lines to call at this time.
We suspect SDs mum has gone and cancelled her passport. They were in court yesterday where she was ordered to hand it over for our holiday in 2 weeks time. She didn't want to. It's been handed over tonight with a "good luck, loser" from her mother. Now we suspect they have done something.
How can we check? I'm honestly gutted that she might have stooped this low. But it doesn't surprise me. Any advice appreciated.

I guess you'd have to ring the passport office and ask, but good luck with that at the moment...

She could have reported it lost or stolen but the website says you can't do this if there is an ongoing dispute over possession of said passport - do the court proceedings count I wonder? www.loststolenpassport.service.gov.uk/report/passport-location/en_GB?instance=oVluWe2y41&change=2
