DS has just got a phone. He is starting to make simple journeys alone so will need to carry his phone, bus pass and house key. DH always carries his stuff in his numerous pockets, but DS's shorts are cheap and simple and have only two unfastened side pockets. I'm going to get him a pair of cargo shorts.
But what about DD? She's quite active, so needs to be able to climb, run etc. She needs to carry a bus pass when e.g. goes out with GP. Both have pocket money so want to carry a wallet. Her clothes, in typical women fashion are even more useless than DS's, smaller pockets or none. I'm leaning towards getting her a small backpack but wondering if I'm missing a trick. I could ask MIL to carry a bag, but I'd rather the Dc took responsibility for their own things and it stresses MIL out having to always switch things back and forth.
It's summer so no jacket.
