Restaurant vouchers etiquette

Hi all

As a long time lurker, I've seen numerous threads on vouchers and restaurants so wanted to see what etiquette is.

I got given a 20 pound voucher for a tapas bar that I love, and tbh the 20 quid will pretty much cover what I would order.

However, I am going with a friend who has been VERY good to me in the past (we are going to see a show afterwards which again is a sort of celebration of that).

I plan to use my vouchers to take 20 quid off the overall bill but - is that cheeky? because I didn't pay for it?

Send help!

Either is fine, just communicate in advance.

  • I've got a £20 voucher that we can use for our bill.

  • I've got a £20 voucher I can use for my share of the bill.

If knock it off the whole bill.
