I've just made a coffee & am waiting for the washer to finish. Dd2's enjoying an epic fruit salad for breakfast, using some of the fruits we bought yesterday.

When this load's on the line, I'll get dressed then make a start on the day. I have loads to do & in my head it's achievable but we'll see...

I need to iron school shirts & interfacing on removable fish scales for a costume, sew some binding and repair a bag for a friend's dd, paint a tail on the costume.

There's prep for Rainbows and Guides on Tuesday to be done but that shouldn't take long, and helping dd2 with maths homework can be done alongside it, at the kitchen table.

Then dd2 wants to clean her praying mantis' house that we didn't get to last night & some false nails sticking.

I've sketched out some props for this coming weeks story but may not get to painting them.

Tea is pulled pork sarnys I think, maybe with garlic roast potatoes 🤔 & accompanied by a glass of wine for me. Fruit and ice cream for afters 🍨

If I can be arsed later on, I'd like to pick up my neglected crochet project for an hour or two.

What about all of you? 🙂

I'm borrowing my friends lovely little dog and going for a walk, then lunch with my aunty.

Titsflyingsouth · 10/07/2022 08:57

Currently lazing on sofa in Jim-jams. Had a very busy day yesterday so keeping today low-key.

bloodywhitecat · 10/07/2022 09:01

Playing Hunt the Trilby this morning (F1 dropped his favourite sunhat in town yesterday) then this afternoon it's a family BBQ to say goodbye to F2. Her introductions start next weekend and, all being well, she moved to her new mummy and daddy the following weekend

I'm a teacher, so marking for the exam board, planning lessons for school and planning for my tutoring sessions this week. Probably some housework too before dd comes home from her college for the summer

iloveruby · 10/07/2022 09:28

Looking after my niece so going to the yard to see my horses this afternoon - planning on teaching her to lunge, wish me luck!

Going to try and get some cleaning done this morning and have a friend coming over for dinner in the evening.

waterlego · 10/07/2022 09:31

We’re going paddle boarding in a minute. We live close to the beach so will spend a couple of hours there and then back for lunch. For the rest of the day, I plan to do as little as possible. DH is going to make dinner so I’m going to relax in the shade in the garden and probably have a nap. Will do a meal plan for the week and a shopping list but taking it very easy on the whole.

MinnieMountain · 10/07/2022 09:35

I’ve just done most of my packing for a long-delayed swimming holiday in Slovenia 😁
DS has some geometry homework to do.
We’re having a “Ploughfest” at a friend’s house for lunch.
Supper is a Jamie Oliver Hungarian pork thing.
Then I’m having an evening walk with a friend.

On the train home, not only is it fairly empty the aircon is working, it is an actual miracle.

My husbands little brother (he’s only eight) is arriving in the UK today to spend some of his summer holidays with us. So we’re picking him up from the airport just after 4pm.

We were both fairly lazy last week, so when I get home it will be lots of laundry, cleaning and sorting the flat out.

howdoesatoastermaketoast · 10/07/2022 10:17

I got up at 6.30am on a Sunday morning voluntarily, without anybody crying at me, because I wasn't so desperately over tired I wanted to cry. A few years ago that seemed like a very distant pipe dream...

Pascha · 10/07/2022 10:19

We booked a slot at the local pool so that, then a late lunch. Might try and get the boys hair cut in between.

YanTanTetheraPetheraPimp · 10/07/2022 10:21

Walked DDog at 6.30am, lovely and cool.
Had coffee, avocado and smoked salmon on rice cakes (a real treat 😋 because I deserve it!), started reading the Sunday papers. Lamb leg slow cooking .
planning on doing very little today really!

HollyBollyBooBoo · 10/07/2022 10:31

Waked the doggo at 6am this morning to beat the heat. Other than that we're having a v lazy day after a houseful for DDs birthday party yesterday.

TheChosenTwo · 10/07/2022 11:53

Dh is in bed with the cold of doom. Dd1 is in bed as she worked til 2 this morning.
dd2 has gone away with a friend for a couple of days and ds is playing with some Lego in his room.
Im sorting washing and cleaning the kitchen. Joy!
Have planned some time in the garden this afternoon having a water fight with ds, perhaps some swingball, hot tub which we’ve cooled right down and then i might nip to my neighbours for a drink in the garden this evening.

easyday · 10/07/2022 12:38

It's so hot...
I've put a load of washing on, been out with the dogs early, been to the supermarket to buy paper and get stuff for dinner (my sick daughter has requested curry). Watered the plants, chatted to neighbour about party wall agreement (she's going to convert her loft).
I've just had some iced coffee and an almond croissant and am half doing MN half reading the paper. Will be watching Wimbledon final later.

MassiveSalad22 · 10/07/2022 12:40

Done some washing and had a friend and her kids round, now lunch then sending the rest of the household over to FILs and I will sit in a dark room with a hot tea watching tv 😍

fluffyducky21 · 10/07/2022 12:49

2 loads of washing on and out on the line to dry, then went for a walk along the prom before it got ridiculously busy. Now back home for lunch then will probably just sit and chill in the garden this afternoon. Will nip in and out the house to check on the tennis final.

Perfectlystill · 10/07/2022 12:54

Walked the dog early and got the washing on the line. Washed the bins which was a revolting task but decided they could dry in this heat.

Swept the garden.

Cooked and ate early roast chicken lunch as two of the children are going off to do activities in a minute.

I plan to have a swim, watch the tennis and maybe finish my book. Maybe start my new jigsaw.

ThisIsntDanicaBritannica · 10/07/2022 13:56

Bit pedestrian here I’m afraid!

Dh has filled up the pool so we’ll be flopping around in it later with teen daughter who still loves messing about trying to stand up on the inflatables!
Cool mat is out for Ddog.
I’m going to read a book - sounds pretty ordinary but it’s not as I’ve been unable to sit and read anything for years, possibly due to depression, but that seems to have changed since yesterday. 😊
I was always a keen reader before so I’m well chuffed.

Signoramarella · 10/07/2022 14:02

Went to town this morning, youngest had 2nd jab. Moorhen about bookshops. This afternoon eating a magnum and reading my book. Kids inside trying to stay cool. Might do a pub shandy later!

SunshineLollipopsAndRainbows · 10/07/2022 14:17

Went into town with DD13 this am - really wish I hadn’t bothered! She was in a really combative mood & I could have cheerfully left her there! This heat doesn’t help. Plus I was annoyed as couldn’t find any cropped trousers for work ( we have no air con so it’s been unbearable). Popping to the market later to hopefully get some there. After town DD & I went to my parents’ house as my DBRO is down for the weekend. Had a nice chat, including plans for our visit to his place in Warwickshire. He & DSIL have bought a converted barn. Thought about a BBQ for tea but neither of us can be bothered. I have chicken breasts so will do a Pataks curry with basmati rice & a giant naan.

OldTinHat · 10/07/2022 14:21

I had to go to B&Q for materials for the builder who is doing my kitchen. Slight mishap earlier when he took the old tiles off and the wall came off with them 😬

House is filthy, covered in dust and rubble. I'm pretending I can't see it and am watching the F1!
