Has anyone used this to order any medication like the contraceptive pill.
i am finding it difficult to get appointments with gp so was going to try Superdrug, but not sure how it works or if they contact your own gp.

I've used it before it's really easy, you just answer the questions and then a doctor approves it, and you can pick up your presumption from Superdrug.

I've been using them for the pill for several years. No problems at all. Well worth it for the convenience.

pinkkoala · 10/07/2022 13:37

Do they ever ring you up or get in touch with your own gp, not that I mind.
its been difficult to get yearly check with nurse at my doctors and I do my bp at work or home so can keep track of it, which is basically what the practice nurse does anyway. X

Oh now. I didn’t know they did it like that. I know they do stuff for cystitis. I will have a look.

serafinarose · 10/07/2022 14:08

There's a box you tick if you want them to inform your GP. Otherwise they don't. They have on occasion asked me to speak to my GP, which I've done and reported back. It's all done by message though, never had a phonecall.

countdowntonap · 10/07/2022 14:08

No I don’t believe they contact your doctor. I be been using Superdrug for Microgynon for at least three years.

pinkkoala · 10/07/2022 22:26

That’s good to know, maybe I will give them a try, the last yearly check I had was over the phone anyway with practice nurse so not even face to face, I gave her my bp readings.

I've used the Boots one to get prescription only hayfever meds and it was fantastic. All done through the site and no need to talk to anyone.

BunnyChowLover · 10/07/2022 23:59

I know you’ve asked about Superdrug but avoid Boots at all costs. The ‘clinical review in 24 hours’ took much longer than 24 hours and they’ve not sent the prescription on to the pharmacy - 6 days later. Their reviews are bloody awful and they prescribe emergency contraception which has left women with unwanted pregnancies. Impossible to get a refund too. Absolutely awful

I gave up getting a appointment with my GP about 9 months ago to be honest with you as it takes 20 minutes to even get through to the receptionist on the telephone after being told your 9th in the queue.

I use Dokteronline if I need a prescription and yes you have to pay a bit extra as it’s not NHS but their service is really good and you get your prescription as in ( medication) delivered within 2 days to your door.
