If i buy a new iphone

The iphone 13. Can I simply take my Virgin mobile sim out and place it in the new one? Or do I have to contact Virgin? I would rather not alter my monthly plan. Sorry if this sounds dense, I am a bit clueless about these plan related things. I am currently using iphone 6!

I also need to update my ipad as I plan to create art work on it. Would there be a way to stop my cloud account sending all of my images and vids to it on setting up? I hope this makes sense! I would prefer the new ipad to be free of my regular stuff.

As for the iPad, you can use the same iCloud address but select set up as a new device when you register it.

There's definitely a way to select which apps share things between the iPad and iPhone. DO has an iPad and an iPhone and whilst they're on the same iCloud account, his messages and photos do not go to his iPad, whereas my mum's messages and FaceTime calls do on her iPad so there must be a way to select what is shared and what isn't x

Weird that Apple have different Sims for the same model of phones but as I'm not an apple fan that doesn't surprise me. Annoying for your son that he had the wrong type
