How long does Diarrhoea continue after stomach bug

I’ve just had a stomach bug. Well it started on Thursday night and I vomited until the early hours of Friday morning. I was also passing literal water instead of usual bowel movements.

This morning I woke up and had a runny 💩 been okay the rest of the day, I managed to keep a banana down and some toast.

Then decided to try some chicken & white rice for dinner.
About 10 mins after eating that, I had the feeling I needed to empty my bowels again.
It wasn’t pure water this time, but very , very loose and still what I would describe as diarrhoea.

I’m having rehydration tablets after each BM at the moment.

As I hadn’t been since this morning, I thought I was out of the woods or getting there at least.
I already suffer with IBS ☹️

How long does the diarrhoea normally last after a tummy bug and after vomiting has stopped?

Check the rehydration tablets. Too many electrolytes can actually cause diarrhoea. They probably say a maximum of how many you can have a day -some say 4. If you are taking after every BM how many have you had over the last couple of days?
If you are drinking fluid with no issues and have managed a little food you would probably be better to stop them as they may be contributing.

Up to two weeks from the start is normal, though usually a matter of days. Also, eating encourages your gut to push through what is already in it, so more diarrhoea once you start eating is definitely to be expected.

Exh had food poisoning when we were away in Spain years ago & it took over a month for everything to get back to normal.
