Emotional mum

Good afternoon lovely mum's so my son is due to go to high school in September I'm incredibly emotional about this I don't really know how to deal with it he's my only child is it normal to feel like this

It's a big change for him.
By emotional, do you mean you're feeling unhappy or sad?
Our children don't stay little I'm afraid. But big kids are pretty great too.

I think it's the thought of him growing up I feel like hes not my baby anymore I do try to encourage him and get him excited for his next venture he seems fine xxx

It's normal to feel apprehensive about big changes like this. There is a Facebook page for parents of students at university, and ithere are quite a few posters sobbing all summer at the thought of their nearly adult child leaving to go to university.

I feel that this is rather OTT.

It’s normal, you’ll probably feel the same when he’s leaving school.
