Who should win the Tory leadership contest based on sheer good looks?

The obvious candidate is Jacob Rees-Mogg but since I suspect he's unlikely to stand, who else should I have my eye on?

look like he has a nice collection of jumpers

Always an advantage.

midsomermurderess · 08/07/2022 17:29

Bravereman has n odd mouth, like something off a muppets puppet. It seems to have a life u decedent if the rest I’d her face. Sunak is cute, Patel is very attractive but an atrocious human being. Someone is going to start a chippy thread soon on behalf of her short son.

MinglingFlamingo · 08/07/2022 17:30

Would have to be Dominic Raab for me please

There was one point 18 months ago when I would have said Matt Hancock BlushBlush

I don’t think Johnny Mercer is standing but I totally would.
Hunt is quite dishy in a startled llama kind of way

I can’t unsee the startled llama 😆

Runnerbeansflower · 08/07/2022 17:35

How strange no-one seems to fancy Gove 😂

Jezza Hunt.

I blame the menopause but he always looks to me like he has a nice collection of jumpers, smells nice and does a mean barbecue when the neighbours pop round.

I used to work for him and he absolutely is like this! Even went to a BBQ at his house once!

ILIWYS · 08/07/2022 17:38

Dominic Raab if I was forced to choose at gunpoint.

But the Roald Dahl quote keeps popping into my head, which really sums up the lot of them:

"If a person has ugly thoughts, it begins to show on the face. And when that person has ugly thoughts every day, every week, every year, the face gets uglier and uglier until you can hardly bear to look at it."

!!!!!

I get why you might like Rory Stewart’s chat, brains, wit, integrity …. but nobody, not even his mother could possibly say he he would win anything on sheer good looks.

Plus of course he isn’t an MP or a candidate

I’ve just had a Google, and have to say I agree

Overdon · 08/07/2022 17:41

Kwasi Kartang, don't think he's running though🙁

It takes all sorts ... :)

Ohhh ben Wallace fairly shaggable. Then again my preference is over 50, clever, witty, dad bod.

His face looks like a scrotum

3amAndImStillAwake · 08/07/2022 17:55

Johnny Mercer. Obviously.

Pre turtleneck? Was that in the parkour years?

balalake · 08/07/2022 18:02

If you are to judge politicians based on looks and appearance, most if not all of the French Presidential candidates were better looking and smarter than any of the declared or rumoured Conservative leadership candidates.

And all of them would do a better job than Boris Johnson as Prime Minister, even with the language barrier.

AffIt · 08/07/2022 18:09

@Arenanewbie

or going to a party and dance?

Gove and his seemingly endless stash of Class As would be the obvious choice here, surely.

This is a subject at which Mumsnet always excels itself 😁

I'm disappointed Ellwood isn't running. I don't fancy him but I do like him.

I still haven't progressed past Alex Salmond tweeting that Gove looks like a balloon animal filled with farts. (To be fair, it might've been an Alex Salmond parody account).

JLwac · 08/07/2022 18:20

Dishy Rishi for me - I love a skinny-legged man.
There was a woman on a MN thread once saying she slept with Raab. If I remember rightly he wasn't anything to write home about.

CPL593H · 08/07/2022 18:21

I think I'll wait until they've all declared, in the hope of something better emerging. Oh, OK, if we have to, Sajid Javid, strong pleasant face and a nice smile.

TBH, if he was standing I wouldn't care if Rory Stewart had 6 heads and dripped green slime as he walked, he is miles above any of them.
