Is it ok to not want to change job and stay with the same company?

I graduated in 2014 and been at the same company since 2016. I'm still happy and enjoy it but I've been recently talking to career minded people in the same industry (banking) and it seems the general consensus is that it's good to move around for a new challenge, to not get institutionalised and no longer being adaptable to change.

I have two kids (1&3) and I'm actually happy, the flexibility is there, great manager ... but in a way, I am probably scared of change because I know what I'm doing, I'm good at it and am appreciated.

Is it wrong not wanting change?

No - of course it’s not wrong! It’s a bloody nightmare getting the flexibility you have with a team and manager that knows you when you go somewhere new. That is worth its weight in gold.

Stick with what’s right for you.

I was offered a new job recently but even though it was a little bit more money because I’ve been in my current job & company a long time I’d lose the flexibility I have here so it’s not worth moving.

@Libre2 thanks! I felt like I needed someone to say that.

@LoudingVoice it sounds like you chose what was right for you - well done x

I've been in the same job at the same company for 18 years. It ticks all the boxes, I'd be mad to go anywhere else.
