What are these black marks on my six year old's molars?

As I was brushing my six year old's teeth last night, I noticed that at least three of his molars have black marks on them. The black patches are right in the centre of the tooth, at the top (in the crinkled looking bit). They're his baby teeth. Is this normal?? He hasn't seen a dentist for ages with covid etc and currently has an appointment booked for the end of this month.

I'm really worried that his teeth are rotting. His dad and I both seem to have naturally awful teeth so I'm worried he's inherited it from us. His brothers teeth are absolutely fine and he's a shower dodging fourteen year old who will avoid brushing his teeth unless nagged. He's not needed a filling yet and never had any of these marks on his teeth.

Can you post a picture? Impossible to say without. Could be staining/arrested caries /active caries.
