Do people interrupt more these days?

I'm listening to a BBC podcast (on ultra processed foods) that was recommended on here. And the experts keep interrupting and talking over each other during their "conversation".

I find there is a lot more interrupting these days. Is it because we are all just so impatient that we can't wait for someone to finish a sentence? A woman I worked with was 2 years ago was like this. She was a bit "elevenerife" as well. So I'd say "My grandmother has been taken into hospital with..." and she'd jump in and say "oh it's the anniversary of my grandmother's death next month..."

I have misophonia and I find it SO distracting and stressful with multiple people talking at once.

Am I alone?

Also, is there any need for the damn chewing noises on this podcast? Along with the "nom nom" type moans and talking with their mouth full of Rice Krispies is giving me the stabby misophonia RAGE!
