Musical for a 6 year old?

Hoping for a couple of recommendations I could book for a matinee! I think my daughter would love a musical but not sure what would be best at this age, and I haven’t seen anything in the west end for so long I’m not sure what’s best to try!

Matilda, Lion King, Frozen, Beauty and the Beast? Look at Kidsweek for suitable ideas and activities alongside.

The Lion King is amazing, so different to most musical theatre in the way they produce it.
Is there a choice based on what's on at the moment? I think one of my first memories of going to the theatre is going to see Annie at a similar age to your DD.

Matilda, Mary Poppins, Frozen, or the Lion King are all pretty safe bets. There's also Beauty and the Beast (I haven't seen it, but assume it'll be OK for smaller kids).

101 Dalmations and the Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe are both opening over the next few weeks and might be ok?

It's worth looking on kids week officiallondontheatre.com/kids-week/ if you're thinking of going in August, they still seem to have tickets available and often add more as time goes on. And the today tix app is good, especially for cheaper last minute tickets

Thanks for the kids week recommendation, I’ll have a look. Lion King seems a good one to look at, she would probably enjoy Frozen too…can I bear any more of that though?! 😂

Cats could be good (of u like cats!), it's very visual and good songs.

Not sure if it's on in London but occasionally local theatres put it on. Human (not animated) version is better and of course there is dvd.

We just booked frozen.. beauty and the beast looks great too
