URGENT advice needed about Covid rules in Spain

BIWI · 06/07/2022 12:48

DS2 is about to go to Spain to join some friends, both of whom have contracted Covid. First friend will have had it for about 7 days by the time DS gets there, second will have had it for 2 days.

He is talking about cancelling his flight, but I don't think he'll get any money back for cancelling on these grounds.

He can't postpone the trip, as after the week spent together, they were all returning to the UK on the same day.

Can anyone advise me what the rules are, currently, in Spain about self-isolation if you have Covid?

TIA

To add, DS is triple vaccinated and has already had Covid, at the beginning of March.

Does he have insurance that offers a refund in this situation?

Not sure - but not even sure if insurance would cover this if it's not him who has Covid? I'll ask though.

Thanks for responding.

Why does he want to cancel?

over50andfab · 06/07/2022 13:09

I think it has to be his choice if he chooses to travel following any requirements needed and guidelines followed www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice/spain/entry-requirements

@martha4clark he wanted to cancel because as his friends both have Covid, he said they wouldn't be able to leave the house, and he didn't want to be stuck inside for a week when it was his holiday.

Also, he didn't want to catch it, and then go back and have to miss time off work.

However, he's cancelled now - and has had a voucher refund from the airline.
