Your best sports day stories!

Attended DDs first sports day this week and I was so happy to see and hear all of the children and (most of the) adults cheering on all of the dc, if one fell/tripped or wasn't as fast as the the rest of the group there was lots of cheering for them and they were so visibly happy.

About half way through, one year 5 dc didn't win his race and immediately dropped the ground crying. Parents jumped up, dad dragging the boy up telling him he didn't try hard enough and mum (well known mlm SHE-E-O, Regina George type) screaming at the teacher because it was the whistles fault her dc didn't win... her tantrum when he also didn't get the sportsmanship medal at the end was something special too 🙄

Thank goodness there was no parents race!

Sports day is always nice at my dc’s school

They cheer for their colour group to win but whoever is going slow and is still racing by the time the first child has crossed the finish line, they automatically change their cheer to that child’s name.

Saying that though, one poor year 6 girl had a terrible day.

She was doing the skipping race, tripped and landed that hard she managed to knock her self out. The way she was holding her wrist made it look like she possibly broke it. An ambulance was called. Bless her
