My old Christening gown which my dd wore. My great grandmother's black Prayer Shawl, which must be at least 80 yo.

I wore a 1920's dress to a wedding recently

(However the oldest item of clothing I have worn is an 1890's petticoat)

my 60 year old petticoat is positively new compared to you lot! - how lovely to have these old family things still

I wore an original 80s jacket this weekend. It’s about 40 years old.

when I was a teen I wore an Indian waistcoat, that the local museum costume specialist dated to about 1830, so it would have been 160 years old at the time. It’s now safely behind glass and on display in my home. Much safer for a (now) 190 year old garment than down the local pub!

love the idea of a trip to the pub in a museum piece!!

'Original 80s' Grin ... I thought you meant 1880s .. most of my wardrobe is from the 1980s ... !

I have a winter coat which belonged to my grandfather which he bought in 1948. It's still incredibly warm and showerproof.

how comforting to wear something that our grandparents wore - it's a powerful link back to them .
