From expenses scandal and questionable behaviour to Chancellor of the Exchequer?

Nadim Zahawi had to apologise (and withdraw the claim) after claiming expenses to have electricity put into his stables and attended the male only Presidents' Ball where women are routinely groped.

And the really sad thing is, in the scheme of things, compared to the rest, he doesn't seem too bad!

How, why are we still accepting this?

I think your second sentence largely answers the first.

I do think, in the grander scheme of things, that his tenure at No.11 will be somewhat brief.

Sorry — first sentence answers the second. (It’s early, ha)

Yes of course, best of a bad bunch, but why are we the public, still accepting a bad bunch?

We haven't had an opportunity in recent years to do anything about it.

RedWreck · 06/07/2022 08:09

Unfortunately we don't get a say in who Boris appoints & he's made it very clear that he isn't too fussy.
Doubt he'll be left with many choices soon.

When is the next election due?

It's going to change to labour surely?

Personally I'd probably prefer to go yellow but I don't know, just had enough of blue.

ItsSnowJokes · 06/07/2022 08:17

They all fail upwards when you have a twat of a prime minister.

SnowyLamb · 06/07/2022 08:32

I've just listened to the new Chancellor trying to defend his position on the PM's lying. It was very uncomfortable

In his shoes, having initially thought it was a price worth paying to get the job, I'd be handing in my notice now the reality was dawning, but I suspect that's not going to happen.
