So today I killed my car

Ancient VW polo, I knew it was on the way out but was hoping it'd make it to the other side of the summer. Feeling a bit sorry for myself and have cracked open the prosecco. Second hand car prices seem extortionate at the moment and waitlistsfor new ones. I have a 7 day hire car from RAC (phew) but in a week I'll need a new car.

Normally buy a 1K job off gumtree but those are thin on the ground. Not keen on lease/ pcp as my car is generally full of muddy wellies/ dog hair/ crumbs and I don't think they'd want it back or at least it'd cost a fortune.

I suppose what I want is a car with a good warranty that's available soonish. Any ideas where to look? 10K ish.

I just bought a car with Cazoo and they were great for customer service and choice of cars.

I shall have a look. I normally don't spend a lot on cars so if I buy a lemon it's a bit shit but not a massive waste of money. A bit of me would die if I spent lots of money and it died six months later.

I don't think webuyanycar would want it! The scrappie will pay 170 though. Amazingly. Is carwow just new cars? I have found some decent options on cazoo so thanks for that. I really like the long warranty that's available.

I'd recommend Volvo Selekt for a used car, they were very good at sorting out issues under warranty. Not much under 10k but they seem to have some v40's.

I think I'm going with a vauxhall astra via cazoo about 9.5K with a four year warranty. 3 years old and 22k on the clock. Thanks for the help.

Sounds perfect - I need one of them too so at least I know where to look!

Oh great! I hope it works out well. I've found them really good so far. There was a minor issue with my car they found during their pre/handover checks (very minor) so they sent it straight to dealer to be fixed and refunded my delivery fee for the slight delay, which was pretty decent of them.
