Riverside lunch, Marlow or nearby (Cookham, Maidenhead, Windsor)?

Recommendations please for a nice lunch (good fresh food, European/gastropub maybe, not fancy but a bit special if that isn't just a random jumble of words 😀) ideally riverside or a view.
We're in SW London, meeting friends who live in NW London. We've never managed to work out a reliable midway meeting place west of central London (suggestions welcome!) so they often come down here but we thought we'd try something different this time.
Marlow is so pretty but riverside options seem a bit more posh than what we're looking for.
DH suggested The Greene Oak in Windsor which we'll probably try in the absence of a riverside option.
Thanks in advance 🙂

The Ferry in Cookham is nice, and has tables outside overlooking the river.

Thanks!

The Bounty in Bourne End is in a nc=ice spot (don't know about the food).
Or here, again I haven't been but I'd like to

Another vote for the ferry in cookham. I grew up in the area and always loved it when it was suggested we could go there - nice without being pretentious and as pp said riverside seating available.

There is also boulters lock in Maidenhead but my last memory is it wasn't brilliant - may be getting tired now. But is by ray mill island which is a lovely stroll afterwards!

Boulters Lock at Maidenhead?

The Cote in Eton is really nice. Right on the river.

Hapoydayz · 05/07/2022 22:26

GoGos at Windsor marina, Cote is on the river too

Boulters lock without a doubt. Lovely food, views and newly done inside.

Oooh I shall have to go back! It's getting lots of love on here and good to hear it's been invested in as the location is great!

Food at the Bounty is plentiful but dire, although the dogs never complain about the dog menu. 😆

Don’t know how much you want to pay, or if you like Indian, but Sindhu at the Compleat Angler is lovely and has a nice view.

The Bounty is in a lovely location but you have to walk to it. If you park in Cookham it’s about a twenty minute walk. If you park in Bourne End, it’s a five minute walk.

The Lakehouse Cafe at Taplow is quite nice.

Thanks for all the good recommendations!
