And he is now a size flipping 10?!? Like an adult size 10 ! Is this not massive? Most of his friends are a size 5/6 etc 😲

How tall is he?
You have my sympathy I live in a house full of people with flipper feet!Grin

flowermallow · 05/07/2022 07:41

He is approx 5ft 4 he is really tall compared to his friends. He said to me the other day, "mum, I'm gonna be 7ft aren't I?" Lol

My son was like this.
He is now an adult and 6' 8"

IglesiasPiggl · 05/07/2022 07:43

Yes that's very big for a ten year old. The others will catch up /overtake over the next few years.

itsgettingweird · 05/07/2022 07:44

Yeah that is big for 10.

But it's likely he'll be an early bloomer and do his growing at 11/12yo and be around 6" by 13!

Kids tend to grow into their feet - at least ime boys do.

My ds was the opposite. At 10 he was a size 3 and tiny. His feet went from a 4-6 in a year - then he got a lovely boost of testosterone at about 14 and grew rapidly and went to an 8 over about 6 months. He's now 5"10 and size 8.5 and has been for 2 years (he's 17 now)

flowermallow · 05/07/2022 07:45

@Skelligsfeathers oh wow that's tall. DS has always been tall so I suspect he's gonna continue to grow as well.

That is big, bless him. My DS of a similar age is an adult size 7 and is tall with a broad chest so can now fit an adult size small. We've bred giants!

MerryMarigold · 05/07/2022 07:48

Very similar to my DS. I felt so guilty that all his shoes were so small and he skipped a 5 completely. Mine is now 8/9 depending on the shoe. My other DS is 13 and size 5 but he's still only about 5'3. He's really really paranoid about his height and it's very disadvantageous in Sport, which he's always been so good at - so OP it's much better to be taller younger. Also hope he's on a swim team! Look up Michael Phelps!

ZenNudist · 05/07/2022 07:50

It's big but my 11yo wears 8 or 9. Not unusual.

Ironically despite my ds not being particularly tall or having big feet he's a trice national champion in swimming!!!

Don't let ds think height will hold him back. It doesn't always.

Neolara · 05/07/2022 07:52

My Ds grew from the feet up. He was average size all round. Then average height with massive feet. Then his legs grew. He's now 15 and 5 foot 10 with a shortish body. I think his torso is going to elongate next.

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 05/07/2022 07:54

I thought my 11yo DDs feet were big at Size 4! She hasn't done her growing yet though...

DH is a Size 9, my brother a size 8 and my DF a size 7...

EveryFlightBeginsWithAFall · 05/07/2022 07:56

Mines the same, 5"4 and size 10 feet. He's just turned 11 though

He's eldest brother is 6"3 so I assume he's going to be the same

ABrotherWhoLooksLikeHellMugYou · 05/07/2022 07:56

My 10 Yr old DS is size 3ish. So isn7 Yr old DD. He was dancing round the kitchen in her sparkly party shoes at the weekend, to general hilarity.

It's probably good for him that he's a titch. He has ADHD and his behaviour and emotional age are younger than his peers, so at least with him being small it stops teachers and other adults expecting more mature behaviour from him. He had the same build as my dad who is.... not tall. DD takes after her dad's side and I won't be surprised if they end up much the same height despite the sex difference.

Highfivemum · 05/07/2022 07:59

My DS at 10 was a size 9. He is still a size nine at 15. He grew into his feet.

RicherThanYew · 05/07/2022 08:04

My 9 year old wears a 6. But he's worn a 6 since he was 8 and a bit and is due to go up a size again soon, he's also taller than most if not all of the children in his year.

What are we feeding them?!?

SadFace2 · 05/07/2022 08:08

Wow, I was shocked that my 11 year old ds is in a 5!

Threetulips · 05/07/2022 08:11

My son had size 2 feet at that age, but he was the smallest in class.

perenniallymessy · 05/07/2022 08:13

My just turned 10yo has size 7, most of his friends are around a 5 but some have size 2-3. He's got the biggest feet of his friends though.

His older brother has size 5 at nearly 13. DS2 has had bigger feet than his brother since he was 6 and he's nearly overtaken him in height.

DS2 takes after tall, early bloomer DH whilst DS1 takes after pretty average sized late bloomer me.

RedElephants · 05/07/2022 08:14

My son was almost as tall as me at the end of Primary,
He's 6'5 now, size 10/11 feet....

imnotwhoyouthinkiam · 05/07/2022 08:15

That is big for 10, but they might not grow much more.

I've got one with huge feet. 17 years old, 5ft 1, size 10/11
And one with comparatively small feet. 15 years old. 5ft 9. Size 6!

GuybrushT · 05/07/2022 08:16

Wow, my DS is 10 and I was shocked that his friend's feet are a 6...DS is a 2! And he's not that small, pretty average in height next to his friends.

notacooldad · 05/07/2022 08:18

Ds1 was the same in primary school. He finished growing at about 15 and is now 6ft3 and size 12 shoes. With a slim build.
He jokes about the clown shoes he had to wear in juniors and how the rest if his body had to catch up.

bumblingbovine49 · 05/07/2022 08:18

Can't remember the exact age but DS had size 9 feet before he left primary school His year 7 shoes were a size 9.5. He is 6 ft 2 now at 17 but his feet stopped at an 11. I think he's probably stopped growing now

WorkEvent · 05/07/2022 08:21

That’s massive, I can’t believe some people are playing it down 😂
