Why to celebrity women always have to hold hand with someone?

Just browsing the internet, and have noticed yet again, a perfectly capable woman, holding hands with her 20 something year old son. I’ve noticed Victoria Beckham can’t be near a male without holding their hand, and the same for so many celebrities. Is it the high heels? I have 3 sons, eldest nearly 18yo, and whilst he would of course hold my hand if I needed help, he probably would think wtf, if I needed to just walk around holding his hand!😂What is it all about??

Well I don't think this is always the case but for those that do do it I imagine most of them do so for security/a quick escape from paparazzi.

I always think the same of the prospective buyers on Escape to the Country.

Men do it as well. Gordon Ramsey was holding hands with his daughter when interviewed at the Grand Prix this weekend. I think they do it in busy situations?

Runningslow · 05/07/2022 07:34

I was just about to say about Gordon Ramsay. I ended up googling to see if it was a new girlfriend, but assume it was his daughter.

I was going to say holding hands is a lovely thing to do, and i don't wear heels or bed protection from the paparazzi... but i wouldn't do it with my parents (i don't have kids!).

Ducksinthebath · 05/07/2022 07:57

I’d do it too if I had high heels, was in a jostling crowd and was blinded by the camera flashes from a pack of paparazzi. Wouldn’t you?

BigFatLiar · 05/07/2022 08:16

I consider myself capable and I hold my husbands hand when we're out, I like holding his hand and he likes holding mine.

RufustheFloralmissingreindeer · 05/07/2022 08:18

Dd still holds my hand

dh and I don’t seem to hold hands anymore….think its cos we are usually walking for exercise 🤔

Changechangychange · 05/07/2022 08:53

On the red carpet, it is almost certainly the heels.

addler · 05/07/2022 09:10

Heels and a security reason, have you ever seen the pictures where you see just how many paparazzi are around them? I would want to keep my loved ones close no matter how old they are.

Alas I am not and never will be famous so they are left to fend for themselves on the busy streets of Surrey.

redwaterbottle · 05/07/2022 09:24

To stop them falling over I'd imagine is a big reason.

lolil · 05/07/2022 09:26

I'm wondering why it's just the women in this situation you mention OP? As of course every single one of them is holding hand with a man (or child) - so why are you suggesting it's something the woman needs?

JollyJunee · 05/07/2022 10:28

Yes, it’s probably the paparazzi. DH and I hold hands, but as I said, not sure teen sons would be so keen!
